Product Description
Ficinia nigrescens seeds grow into a blackening sedge — a perennial sedge native to the subtropical biome of South Africa, growing in the fynbos and renosterveld habitats of the Cape Province. The epithet nigrescens means 'blackening' or 'becoming black', referring to the dark to black colour of the inflorescences or stems at maturity. A South African endemic sedge of the Cape floristic region, one of the world's most biodiverse floras. The genus Ficinia is largely endemic to the Cape Province of South Africa. Family Cyperaceae.
