Product Description

Haworthia limifolia 'Yellow Variegated' is a dazzling and highly collectible succulent known for its sculptural symmetry and vivid golden variegation. Native to the rocky hills of southern Africa, this form enhances the already mesmerizing spiral rosette of Haworthia limifolia with radiant bands of buttery yellow, pale gold, and light lime streaking across its sharply ridged leaves. The leaf texture, reminiscent of carved stone or woven fabric, remains intact, forming a dramatic contrast with the soft tones of the yellow variegation, which often appears as stripes, marbled sectors, or creamy margins. The overall effect is both graphic and elegant—compact yet powerful in presence. This cultivar typically grows slowly and stays small, reaching around 10–12 cm in diameter, making it ideal for indoor settings or collector trays. Sensitive to light intensity, its color varies slightly by season and exposure. As one of the most striking variegated Haworthias, Haworthia limifolia 'Yellow Variegated' is beloved by enthusiasts for its balance of rarity, foliar contrast, and geometric beauty.

Botanical family: Asphodelaceae

Botanical genus: Haworthia

Botanical species: Haworthia limifolia

Cultivation

Soil type: Use a porous, fast-draining succulent mix with added perlite, pumice, or fine gravel.

Watering frequency: Water moderately during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry fully between waterings. Water sparingly in winter.

Light exposure: Bright indirect light is best. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the yellow areas; filtered sun encourages stronger variegation.

Temperature requirements: Optimal range is 18–27 °C (65–80 °F); avoid cold exposure below 8 °C (46 °F).

Fertilization: Apply a diluted cactus fertilizer once a month from spring to early autumn.

Pruning: Remove dried leaves from the base when needed.

Common pests: Monitor for mealybugs and spider mites, especially near the leaf bases.

Other practices: Avoid overwatering. Protect the variegated sections from sunburn. Propagate slowly via offsets when mature.
