Product Description

Eriosyce lapampaensis is a rare and highly collectible cactus species native to the arid slopes of northern Chile. It presents as a small, solitary globe that slowly becomes shortly columnar, with a dark grayish-green to deep olive body. Prominent ribs are etched with dramatic notches, from which emerge thick radial and central spines in tones of amber, red, or nearly black, giving the plant a wild, armored look.

What makes Eriosyce lapampaensis truly desirable is its combination of compact form and intense spination. Each areole produces a tight halo of twisted, needle-like spines that vary in texture—some rigid and straight, others curved and claw-like. In late spring or early summer, it surprises with bright magenta-pink funnel-shaped flowers that bloom at the apex, creating a vivid contrast to its otherwise earthy tone.

  • Deeply ribbed body with dark, sculptural structure

  • Dense, twisted spines in bold, varied coloration

  • Flowers in vivid pink bloom from late spring onward

  • Excellent in mineral displays and dry landscapes

  • Native to harsh, rocky zones of La Pampa, Chile

Resilient and visually powerful, Eriosyce lapampaensis thrives under tough conditions and rewards patience with rare beauty. Its dramatic silhouette and colorful floral display make it an ideal focal plant for cactus lovers who appreciate form, strength, and contrast.
