Product Description

Eriosyce curvispina ssp. marksiana is a striking and compact cactus native to central Chile, known for its bold spination and vibrant flowering. This small, globular to slightly elongated plant features a matte olive-green to brownish body, segmented by pronounced ribs and deeply sunken areoles. From each areole emerge dense, curved spines ranging in color from honey-yellow to reddish-brown, often aging to a soft gray.

The unique spine formation gives Eriosyce curvispina ssp. marksiana its signature character. The spines arch outward and sometimes intertwine, creating a tangled, almost flame-like appearance. In late spring, this cactus produces eye-catching funnel-shaped flowers in vivid yellow or golden hues, often with a hint of orange at the throat. The flowers stand in elegant contrast to the muted tones of the spines and skin.

  • Dense, curved spines in golden to reddish tones

  • Globular body with sharply defined ribs

  • Yellow flowers bloom in late spring to early summer

  • Excellent for rocky planters and arid greenhouses

  • Rare subspecies with striking desert charm

Ideal for collectors and arid-garden designers, Eriosyce curvispina ssp. marksiana offers sculptural beauty and floral brilliance. Its rugged form and resilient nature make it perfect for well-drained displays that highlight its Chilean desert origins.
