Epithelantha bokei

Epithelantha bokei, a captivating miniature cactus, enchants with its diminutive size and intricate beauty. This slow-growing species forms small, solitary or slightly clustering stems, rarely exceeding 2 cm in diameter. The stem's surface is densely covered with tiny, overlapping tubercles, each bearing a cluster of short, white, radial spines. These spines, often numbering over 20 per areole, create a delicate, almost frosty appearance. In spring, Epithelantha bokei produces small, pink to magenta flowers at the apex of the stem, adding a splash of color to its subtle charm. These blooms give way to small, red fruits that contain a few black seeds.
