Product Description

The striking Encephalartos horridus is a primitive cycad with a dramatic appearance. Its blue-grey, almost metallic fronds are heavily lobed, giving the leaves a thorny, sculptural quality. This slow-growing, dwarf cycad grows in a low, spreading form, often less than 1 meter high. Native to South Africa, it bears male and female cones on separate plants, with the female cones producing vibrant red seeds. Its prehistoric look and intense foliage coloration make it a living fossil and a collector’s gem.
