Product Description
The Cycas condaoensis is an extremely rare and striking cycad species endemic to Côn Đảo, an isolated archipelago off the southern coast of Vietnam. Adapted to the island’s rocky, well-drained slopes and maritime climate, this slow-growing evergreen develops a sturdy, upright trunk crowned with a symmetrical rosette of long, graceful fronds that can reach 1.5 to 2 meters in length. The pinnate leaves are composed of narrow, glossy, deep-green leaflets with a subtle arch, creating a soft yet highly architectural silhouette. As a gymnosperm, the Cycas condaoensis produces distinctive cone-like reproductive structures—elongated, golden-brown male cones with densely packed scales and striking female megasporophylls fringed with fine lobes surrounding large seeds. With its limited wild range, island exclusivity, and bold sculptural presence, this species is treasured by collectors both for its rarity and for its status as a living fossil, unchanged for millions of years.
