Product Description

Cycas chevalieri is a rare and sculptural cycad native to the limestone hills of Vietnam and Laos. This distinctive plant forms a stout, upright trunk topped with a symmetrical crown of glossy, dark green fronds. Each leaf reaches up to 1.5 meters, with stiff, narrow leaflets that curve gently downward, giving the plant an elegant yet prehistoric appearance. Its bold form and slow growth make it ideal for collectors and architectural landscapes.

Gardeners admire Cycas chevalieri for its ability to command space without overwhelming it. The fronds emerge in flushes, creating a dramatic fountain-like shape. The leaf texture is leathery, with a subtle metallic sheen that catches the light. As a dioecious species, it produces separate male and female cones—both are compact and ornamental, adding seasonal interest and biological intrigue to its form.

• Excellent in pots, dry gardens, or tropical borders.
• Naturally slow-growing and drought-tolerant once established.
• Fronds have a firm, upright posture with slight arching tips.
• A living fossil with stunning architectural form.

Cycas chevalieri thrives in bright light and well-drained soil. Whether used as a container showpiece or a ground-planted feature, it offers timeless appeal. Its resilient nature and exotic structure suit minimalist, tropical, or desert-style designs with equal ease.
