This plant typically features a solitary or slightly clumping growth habit, with stems that can reach up to 20 cm in diameter. The stems are globular to short-cylindrical, exhibiting a distinctive coating that ranges from silvery-white to a coppery hue. This coloration gives the plant a unique, eye-catching appearance. The surface is covered with prominent ribs and small areoles, each bearing short, dark spines. During the summer, it produces bright yellow flowers that contrast beautifully with its muted stem colors.
