Unlike typical Astrophytum varieties, Koh-Yo is a nudum form, meaning it lacks the white trichomes and has a clean, bare appearance. The coloration of Koh-Yo can shift with temperature changes and seasonal variations, often showing shades of green, yellow, and orange. Its ribbed structure usually has 5 pronounced sections, creating a star-like shape that matures slowly over time. In spring, it produces yellow, daisy-like flowers that open at the top, adding seasonal beauty to its aesthetic appeal.
