Product Description
Arequipa rettigii is a rare and visually distinct cactus native to the arid valleys of southern Peru, particularly around Arequipa. It grows as a globular to short cylindrical stem, typically solitary, with prominent ribs lined by woolly areoles bearing stiff, curved central spines and finer radial spines. Its standout feature is the production of large, tubular flowers—usually pink to magenta, sometimes with lighter throats—opening at the stem's apex. This genus bridges traits between Echinopsis and Arequipa-type cacti, making it a coveted rarity for collectors.
