The Tephrocactus aoracanthus is a distinctive segmented cactus known for its unique cylindrical or ovoid stems and striking long spines. Each segment is densely covered with sharp, rigid spines that can grow up to 10 cm long, giving it a fierce appearance. This cactus forms small clumps or clusters as it matures, with individual segments easily detaching. Native to arid regions, the Tephrocactus aoracanthus is well-adapted to dry environments. In the spring, it produces small, white or pale yellow flowers, adding a subtle beauty to its rugged form.
