Stapelia macowani var. conformis is a unique and fascinating succulent species native to the arid regions of Southern Africa. This clump-forming succulent is characterized by its fleshy, green stems with four distinct angles, which can develop soft, fine hairs. The most striking feature of Stapelia macowani var. conformis is its star-shaped flowers, which are typically brownish-purple or maroon with intricate patterns. These large flowers emit a carrion-like odor to attract pollinating flies. Growing this variety from seeds is an exciting challenge, and once established, it rewards with its bold, unusual blooms.
