Tamarix gallica
Tamarix gallica
Plant Description
The French Tamarisk (Tamarix gallica) is a graceful, deciduous shrub or small tree known for its delicate, feathery foliage and airy, pink flower clusters. Blooming from late spring to early summer, these fluffy pink to pale purple flowers appear in dense spikes, adding a soft, romantic charm. Tamarix gallica can reach up to 15–20 feet in height and has slender, arching branches with small, scale-like leaves that give the plant an ethereal, misty appearance. Tolerant of saline and poor soils, it’s often planted along coastal areas and is prized for erosion control and windbreaks.
