Plant Description

Spartium junceum, known as Spanish broom, is a striking shrub known for its slender, green stems and profuse, bright yellow flowers. Its broom-like branches are nearly leafless, giving the plant a unique, wiry look. In summer, the plant produces masses of pea-shaped flowers with a powerful sweet fragrance, adding color and scent to dry, rocky landscapes. This tough, drought-resistant shrub can grow up to 3 meters tall and thrives in Mediterranean climates, where it often naturalizes in open fields and along roadsides.
