Salix alba subsp. tristis
Salix alba subsp. tristis
Plant Description
Salix alba subsp. tristis, commonly known as silver weeping willow, is a stunning, deciduous tree that combines the weeping form of traditional willows with the luminous golden-yellow branches of Salix alba. Its slender, pendulous branches cascade gracefully, creating an elegant waterfall-like silhouette. The lance-shaped green leaves have a silvery underside that shimmers in the breeze. In spring, small catkins bloom, adding seasonal interest. Growing up to 20 meters, this tree is ideal near ponds or rivers, adding dramatic structure and color to landscapes, especially during the dormant winter months.
