Plant Description

Quercus x saulii, a hybrid oak combining characteristics of Quercus robur (English oak) and Quercus petraea (Sessile oak), is known for its adaptability and attractive form. This tree features deeply lobed, dark green leaves with a glossy texture that turn yellow to bronze in autumn, adding seasonal interest. With a broad, rounded canopy and sturdy branches, it can reach up to 20 meters (65 feet) in height, providing ample shade. The bark is rough and gray-brown, developing deep fissures with age. In spring, it produces small catkins and clusters of acorns that appeal to local wildlife.
