Plant Description

Pinus mugo, commonly known as the Mugo Pine or Mountain Pine, is a hardy, dwarf conifer native to the mountainous regions of Europe. At the 10-20 cm size, this young plant already exhibits its characteristic dense, dark green needles that grow in pairs, forming a compact, bushy shape. Pinus mugo is highly adaptable, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, bonsai, or as ground cover in landscaping. Its low-growing, spreading habit, combined with its tough, resilient nature, allows it to thrive in harsh conditions, including poor, rocky soils and windy locations.
