Plant Description
Pachypodium geayi, often referred to as the Madagascar Baobab, is a striking succulent tree native to Mont Eliva and surrounding regions in Madagascar. It features a thick, bottle-shaped trunk with a silvery-gray, spiny surface, allowing it to store water in arid conditions. Its long, narrow, leathery leaves are clustered at the branch tips, giving the plant a palm-like appearance. During its blooming season, it produces fragrant, pale pink to white flowers that contrast beautifully with the robust trunk. Known for its resilience, Pachypodium geayi thrives in dry, rocky soils, making it an iconic symbol of Madagascar's unique flora.
