Product Description

The brown-spined prickly pear or Opuntia phaeacantha is a resilient, clump-forming cactus native to arid regions of North America. This species is characterized by its flat, oval pads, which are covered in clusters of small, sharp spines ranging from brown to reddish hues. During late spring and summer, it produces stunning yellow flowers, often with a reddish center, followed by edible, reddish-purple fruits (tunas). Growing up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall and spreading widely, it thrives in harsh conditions and adds striking texture to xeriscapes or wild gardens.
