The Siberian carpet cypress or Microbiota decussata is a low-growing, evergreen conifer with a graceful, spreading habit. Its delicate, feathery foliage is scale-like and soft to the touch, displaying a bright green color in spring and summer, which turns a bronze or purplish hue in winter. Typically reaching 20–50 cm (8–20 inches) in height and spreading up to 2–3 meters (6–10 feet), it forms a dense, ground-covering mat.
