Plant Description
The Metasequoia glyptostroboides, commonly known as the Dawn Redwood, is a majestic deciduous conifer native to China. This fast-growing tree can reach heights of up to 35 meters, with a straight trunk and a broad, conical crown. Its feathery, needle-like leaves are soft to the touch and bright green in the spring and summer, turning a rich coppery-bronze in the fall before they drop. The bark is reddish-brown and fibrous, adding texture and interest to the landscape year-round. This ancient tree species is a living fossil, having existed since the time of the dinosaurs.
