Endemic to the San Luis Potosí region of Mexico, it thrives in dry, rocky habitats. This species is especially admired for its luminous bright pink flowers that appear in a neat crown at the apex. Its fine tuberculation, soft texture, and compact habit make it an exquisite specimen for connoisseurs of miniature cacti.
