Plant Description

The Liriodendron tulipifera, commonly known as the Tulip Tree or Yellow Poplar, is a majestic deciduous tree prized for its tall, straight trunk and unique tulip-shaped flowers. These blooms, yellow-green with orange centers, appear in late spring and resemble tulips, giving the tree its name. Its large, lobed leaves turn a striking golden-yellow in autumn. The smooth gray bark becomes furrowed with age, adding to its stately appearance. Native to North America, the Tulip Tree grows rapidly and is valued for its ornamental beauty, shade, and timber.
