Juglans regia SORRENTO WALNUT
Juglans regia SORRENTO WALNUT
Plant Description
Juglans regia, commonly known as the English walnut or Persian walnut, is a large, deciduous tree with a broad, rounded crown. Its pinnately compound leaves consist of 5-9 oval, dark green leaflets that are aromatic when crushed. In spring, the tree produces long, green male catkins and smaller female flowers, which develop into the well-known edible walnuts. The tree's bark is grayish and deeply furrowed with age. It can reach heights of up to 30 meters, with a wide-spreading root system. The nut's rough, wrinkled shell encases a nutrient-rich seed, highly prized for its flavor and oils.
