Plant Description

The Encephalartos villosus is an elegant cycad known for its lush, bright green fronds and soft, hair-like brown fibers covering its young stems. Native to the subtropical forests of South Africa, this species features long, arching leaves that can grow up to 3 meters in length, with each leaflet having a delicate, serrated edge. The trunk is typically underground or just above ground level, creating a dense, bushy appearance. The Encephalartos villosus produces large, bright yellow or orange cones, adding to its striking visual appeal.
