Plant Description

The rare Encephalartos middelburgensis is a stunning, slow-growing cycad known for its striking blue-green, rigid fronds that form a dense, upright crown. Each frond can grow up to 1.5 meters, with leaflets armed with a slightly serrated edge, adding a unique texture. The plant has a sturdy, woody trunk that grows thicker with age, sometimes branching slightly. This cycad also produces large, conical cones in vibrant shades of yellow to orange, an especially eye-catching feature. Native to South Africa, it thrives in warm, arid conditions and is well adapted to withstand drought.
