Dasylirion quadrangulatum 10-15cm
Plant Description
Dasylirion quadrangulatum, commonly known as the Toothless Sotol or Desert Spoon, is a striking, slow-growing evergreen succulent. This plant forms a dense rosette of narrow, upright, blue-green leaves that can reach lengths of up to 1.5 meters. The leaves are uniquely quadrangular (four-angled) in cross-section, giving the plant its distinctive look. Unlike other Dasylirion species, the leaves of D. quadrangulatum are almost spineless, making it easier to handle. In late spring to early summer, it produces tall flower spikes that can reach up to 3-4 meters, adorned with small, white to cream-colored flowers. This drought-tolerant plant is ideal for xeriscaping, rock gardens, and as a specimen plant in landscapes.
