Plant Description

Citrus x myrtifolia, commonly known as Chinotto, is a small evergreen citrus tree or shrub native to the Mediterranean region. It features dense, glossy, dark green leaves that are narrow and resemble myrtle leaves, hence its name. The tree produces small, fragrant white flowers that bloom in spring, followed by small, round, bitter orange fruits. The fruits are deep orange when ripe and are primarily used in beverages, marmalades, and candies. The plant is well-suited for container growing and can be trained as a bonsai.
