Plant Description

Citrus × paradisi, commonly known as pink grapefruit, is a hybrid citrus tree resulting from a cross between the pomelo (Citrus maxima) and the sweet orange (Citrus × sinensis). This evergreen tree has a rounded crown with dense, glossy, dark green foliage. In spring, it produces fragrant white flowers that develop into large, round fruits with a smooth, yellow to pinkish rind. The flesh inside is pink to reddish-pink, juicy, and has a sweet-tart flavor with a hint of bitterness. Pink grapefruit is popular for fresh consumption, juicing, and culinary uses in salads and desserts.
