Plant Description

The Citrus aurantium Variegated, a stunning form of the bitter orange, is a compact citrus tree prized for its attractive variegated foliage and ornamental appeal. At 20–50 cm (8–20 inches) tall, this young tree features glossy, dark-green leaves mottled with creamy-white streaks and fragrant white flowers. The small, round fruits, also variegated during development, mature to a smooth orange hue. Though the fruit is bitter and sour, it is commonly used in marmalades, liqueurs, and essential oils.
