The Cephalocereus senilis, known as the Old Man Cactus, is a distinctive columnar cactus covered in a thick layer of long, silky white hairs, giving it the appearance of an aged figure. Beneath its woolly coat, its ribbed green stems are lined with sharp yellow spines. Native to Mexico, this slow-growing species can reach impressive heights over decades. Mature plants develop a lateral cephalium, from which nocturnal pink to white flowers emerge, followed by small, red fruits. Highly sought after for its unique texture, it thrives in arid environments and makes an excellent collector’s specimen.
