Plant Description

The Araucaria araucana, commonly known as the Monkey Puzzle tree, is a unique and ancient evergreen conifer native to the Andes mountains of Chile and Argentina. It features an extraordinary form, with stiff, triangular, dark green leaves spiraling around thick branches. These leathery, sharp leaves are highly durable, giving the tree its distinctive look and name. At 15-35 cm, young specimens are compact but already show their signature spiny, architectural appearance. Over time, this slow-growing tree can reach impressive heights, becoming a striking focal point in large gardens or landscapes.
