Abies pinsapo
Plant Description
The Spanish fir or Abies pinsapo is a striking evergreen conifer native to the mountains of southern Spain. Its dense, symmetrical form is adorned with short, rigid, blue-green needles that radiate around the branches, giving it a distinctive appearance. The tree grows in a pyramidal shape, reaching heights of 10–25 meters (33–82 feet). Its bark is gray and scaly, adding texture as it matures. The cones, cylindrical and upright, mature from green to brown. Renowned for its drought resistance and bold needles, it adds dramatic structure to any landscape.
