Plant Description

The Abies alba, commonly known as the European Silver Fir, is a majestic evergreen conifer native to the mountains of Europe. Its symmetrical, pyramidal form is adorned with soft, dark green needles that have silvery undersides, giving the tree a luminous appearance. The bark is smooth and silvery-gray when young, becoming fissured with age. This tree can grow up to 50 meters (164 feet) tall and is a vital species in montane forests. Renowned for its beauty and longevity, the European Silver Fir is often used in reforestation projects, as a Christmas tree, or as a stately ornamental.
