Plant Description

The Wagner's Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus wagnerianus) is a compact, cold-hardy palm prized for its manageable size and striking, fan-shaped leaves. Unlike other fan palms, its fronds are shorter, stiffer, and deeply green, giving it excellent wind resistance and a neat appearance. Reaching up to 10–20 feet tall, this palm is slow-growing with a fibrous, rough-textured trunk. Native to Asian mountainous regions, Trachycarpus wagnerianus is perfect for small gardens, urban landscapes, and container planting, as it combines resilience with a distinctly exotic look, tolerating colder climates better than many other palms.
