Plant Description

The Tamarix africana is a deciduous shrub or small tree, reaching heights of 3 to 6 meters. Its slender, arching branches are covered with tiny, scale-like leaves that give the foliage a soft, feathery appearance. The gray-green leaves create a delicate texture, contrasting beautifully with its pale pink to white flower spikes, which bloom in dense, plume-like clusters from late spring to summer. Adapted to saline soils and coastal areas, this salt-tolerant plant can often be found near riverbanks, lagoons, and wetlands, where it helps to stabilize the soil.
