Salix alba, commonly known as white willow, is a tall, fast-growing deciduous tree known for its slender, silvery-green leaves and whitish bark. The lance-shaped leaves have a silvery sheen on the underside, giving the tree its “white” appearance, especially when they shimmer in the wind. In spring, small, yellowish catkins appear, adding seasonal interest and attracting pollinators.
