Plant Description

The Chinese quince or Pseudocydonia sinensis is an exquisite deciduous tree, admired for its ornamental bark, fragrant flowers, and aromatic fruit. Growing to 6–10 meters (20–33 feet), this tree features smooth, exfoliating bark that reveals patches of gray, orange, and brown. In spring, delicate pale pink flowers bloom, followed by large, yellow quince-like fruits in autumn, which exude a sweet, spicy aroma. Its glossy, green leaves turn brilliant shades of red and yellow in fall, enhancing its multi-seasonal appeal. Hardy and low-maintenance, it is a showpiece in any garden.
