Product Description

The Encephalartos horridus is an extraordinary cycad with fierce, spiny, metallic-blue leaves that radiate in bold rosettes. This slow-growing plant forms a stout, water-storing trunk, often partially subterranean, that adds to its sculptural charm. Native to South Africa, its rigid, serrated fronds are both visually striking and a natural defense mechanism against herbivores. Its compact size, unique coloring, and dramatic appearance make Encephalartos horridus a collector's favorite and an eye-catching feature in arid gardens or containers.
