Product Description

Encephalartos ferox is a species of cycad native to coastal Mozambique and northern KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. It features a stout trunk up to 1 meter tall, crowned by a rosette of stiff, glossy, dark green fronds up to 2 meters long. The fronds are pinnate, with each leaflet having sharply toothed margins. This species is dioecious, with male and female cones on separate plants. The female cones are large, up to 50 cm long, and turn a striking red when mature, containing bright red seeds. This slow-growing plant is often sought after for ornamental purposes due to its striking foliage and cones.
