Plant Description

The Encephalartos eugene-maraisii is a rare, stunning cycad known for its distinctive blue-grey fronds that form a dense crown. The pinnate leaves are stiff and leathery, with sharp, spiny leaflets that curve slightly inward, giving the plant an elegant, sculptural appearance. This slow-growing species can reach up to 3 meters tall and produces large, cylindrical cones, with male and female cones growing on separate plants. Native to South Africa’s Waterberg Mountains, it thrives in rocky terrain, displaying a prehistoric beauty and adding a dramatic focal point to any landscape.
