Product Description

The Copiapoa hypogaea is a small, globular cactus species native to the Atacama Desert in Chile. Its unique appearance features a dark green to brownish body that grows partially submerged in the soil, hence its name “hypogaea” (meaning “underground”). This compact cactus forms clusters of rounded heads that are covered in short, soft spines and a waxy coating that helps protect it from intense sunlight. In the summer, it produces delicate yellow flowers at its apex, adding a touch of brightness to its otherwise rugged look. This slow-growing cactus is highly prized by collectors for its unusual growth habit and desert resilience.
