Product Description

Cedrus libani, commonly known as the Cedar of Lebanon, is a magnificent evergreen conifer tree native to the mountainous regions of the Eastern Mediterranean, including Lebanon, Turkey, and Syria. This iconic tree is renowned for its imposing stature, tiered branches, and enduring cultural significance as a symbol of strength and resilience.

Cedrus libani is characterized by its impressive size, often reaching heights of 40 to 130 feet (12 to 40 meters) when fully mature. It boasts a dignified and broadly conical crown with densely arranged, tiered branches that create a striking and enduring presence. The tree's foliage consists of clusters of short, needle-like leaves that are typically dark green and arranged spirally on the branches.

One of the most distinctive features of the Cedar of Lebanon is its imposing cones. These cones are egg-shaped and can grow up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They start as a greenish hue but gradually mature to a woody brown color. The cones release seeds that are sought after by various wildlife species, and the wood of the tree has been highly prized for centuries as a valuable source of timber.

Beyond its aesthetic grandeur, Cedrus libani holds deep cultural and historical significance. It has been revered as a symbol of strength, endurance, and resilience, and it features prominently in ancient texts and historical structures, including the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem.

Today, the Cedar of Lebanon remains a cherished addition to gardens, parks, and landscapes worldwide, not only for its majestic presence but also for the rich symbolism and historical legacy it brings to any setting.
