Plant Description

Betula pendula, commonly known as the Silver Birch, is a graceful deciduous tree that can reach heights of up to 25 meters. It is characterized by its distinctive white, papery bark that often peels off in thin layers, revealing a darker underlayer. The slender branches hang downwards, giving the tree its weeping appearance. Its leaves are triangular, serrated, and bright green, turning a stunning golden yellow in the autumn. In spring, the tree produces small, cylindrical catkins that release pollen into the air. Betula pendula is known for its light, airy canopy and is commonly used in ornamental planting.
