Plant Description

Astrophytum myriostigma var. tamaulipensis is a striking cactus known for its star-shaped structure and distinctive pattern. Native to Tamaulipas, Mexico, it features five pronounced ribs that give it a star-like appearance when viewed from above. The plant’s surface is covered with a myriad of tiny, white flecks, giving it a speckled look. These white scales are actually trichomes, which help the cactus reflect sunlight. The cactus produces large, yellow flowers with a red center that bloom at the top, creating a beautiful contrast against its green to blue-green body.
