Astrophytum asterias 'Tamaulipas x Oibbo' is a hybrid cactus that combines features of Astrophytum asterias from Tamaulipas, Mexico, with those of the Oibbo variety. This slow-growing cactus features a flattened, disc-like body typically 2-6 cm tall and 5-15 cm in diameter. Its skin is dark green and covered with numerous small white spots, creating a speckled appearance. The plant usually has 8 smooth, spineless ribs with white, woolly areoles. In late spring to early summer, it blooms with bright yellow, funnel-shaped flowers with orange throats. This hybrid is valued for its unique appearance and ease of care.
