Plant Description

Asimina triloba, commonly known as the Pawpaw, is a unique, small deciduous tree native to North America, renowned for its large, tropical-looking leaves and edible fruits. At the 20-30 cm size, this young tree is beginning to develop its broad, oblong leaves, which can reach up to 30 cm long and turn a beautiful golden yellow in autumn. Asimina triloba produces distinctive maroon flowers in spring, followed by custard-like fruits in late summer to fall, which have a flavor resembling a mix of banana, mango, and melon. This tree is highly valued for its ornamental appeal and delicious fruit, making it a favorite in home gardens and orchards.
