Plant Description

Aloe marlothii, commonly known as mountain aloe, is a robust, single-stemmed succulent that can reach up to 10 feet tall. The leaves are thick, fleshy, and blue-green, covered with reddish-brown spines on both surfaces and along the margins. These leaves form a dense rosette at the top of the trunk. During the blooming season, Aloe marlothii produces a large, branched inflorescence with tubular, bright orange to yellow flowers that attract pollinators like birds and bees. This aloe is native to southern Africa and is well-adapted to arid environments.
