Plant Description

The Agave decipiens, known as the False Sisal or Florida Agave, is a rare, graceful succulent native to Florida. It forms dense rosettes of long, slender, arching green leaves with finely serrated edges and sharp terminal spines. Reaching up to 1.8 meters (6 feet) in height and width, this species creates an elegant, fountain-like appearance. Unlike many agaves, it thrives in coastal regions and is salt-tolerant. When mature, it sends up a towering flower spike adorned with yellow-green blooms, offering a stunning display. This adaptable Agave is ideal for tropical and subtropical landscapes.
